Mango Blackberry Mocktail

Finally the sun is out as it really should be in what is typically our hot season! January was shockingly cool, and even more startling, rainy!! I love sunny weather and not that the sun is out in full glory, you bet I will be going for more walks to soak it in. Heck, I am completing this blog post from the back yard, on my leso and in the sun. What I wish I had too is this mango blackberry mocktail, that I made a few weeks back and am literally salivating at, and really missing and I get this post finished for you guys to try it out as well.

This is super simple, but I know you are really going to enjoy this!!

Banana Bread

Would you believe me if I told you I have the best banana bread recipe in the whole world for you? Would you believe me if I told you it is crazy easy to make, and the moistest you will ever lay on your tongue? If you have been following me long enough, you know very well when I tell you something is amazing, that means it is!!

The weather has since changed and we are in the cooler months of the year. We have swapped possets we enjoyed in January nights and now, indulging in warm, fresh, delicious banana bread for cold June/July nights. *Daenerys’ voice* Shall we begin?

3 Restaurants, 3 Faves

Nothing thrills me more than having the chance to explore other cultures, trying out new things and immersing myself in their way of life and their way of doing things. I have had the privilege traveling to South Africa to attend the DSTv Delicious Food Festival this coming weekend but prior to that, we are experiencing the country and savoring all it has to offer. From our evening game drives, to going on the fastest zip line in Africa, it has been such a ball so far!! It is my second time here (read about my first time here) and I am more than happy to have food tied into the mix.  We have visited quite a number of restaurants and today I want to review the first three restaurants we have to been to and the best I had in each one of them .

Here we go!!

Ginger Rosemary Carrot Fingers

I have been loviing myself some really savory and indulgent meals lately. Not that it is wrong to indulge, but you know, things get soooooo good when you are eating those rich indulgent foods and it completely sucks you in!!! You find your self wanting to eat only really indulgent meals. You go from one more burger bite, to greedily eating two more. Don’t judge me btw, greed is a real thing LOL! Then after your two burgers are sitting in your stomach and you are basking in the after glow of phenomenal flavors, health guilt sets in. What is health guilt you ask? It is that voice that reminds you to stop eating like an idiot and balance the clean with the indulgent. Since I know in my hearts of hearts I will never be one to live on only raw veggies (God bless those who do), what I will do is balance. A bit of indulgence and a bit of clean; because life is all about balance right?

I love my carrots and I made this fast carrot dish that brings out all it’s great qualities. Healthy does not have to be boring though, and my carrot fingers have all the flavor you will need for this lifetime and the next.
